❤️🤍💙 All the best BBQ recipes for this weekend

This weekend was always such a fun one for us growing up. The night before the 4th, our mom and dad would set up a blanket at chairs at Layton City Park, and we'd brave the crowds the next morning to go watch the community parade (most years cheering on a sister or two who were IN the parade for one reason or another).

We hung around the park all morning, cheered on any sisters who were playing in the All-Star softball game, and spent time on the blow up slides and food trucks. That afternoon we'd head home for a big BBQ dinner before we went back that night. We always ended the evening playing games, enjoying our salt water taffy stash from the parade, and watching the fireworks.

Looking back now, it had to have been so much work for my parents - but they never made it feel like it was. It was just a day of good food and family time, and those are some of the happiest memories from my childhood.

If you've got a BBQ planned for this weekend, I rounded up some of our favorites we had growing up, as well as a few newer recipes that we currently have on repeat at our house.

We hope you have a safe, fun 4th of July weekend surrounded by the people you love and delicious food.

Have a good one,
Steph (Sister #4)

Smash Burgers + Shack Sauce

My kids have requested these once a week this summer and I am more than happy to oblige.

Mom's Grilled Chicken

This chicken can marinate all night and day until you're ready to cook. It's so tender and juicy!

Air Fryer Hot Dogs

If you don't have a grill (or don't want to pull it out in this heat) make these indoor instead. This is my kids' favorite kind of hot dog!

Creamy Pasta Salad

It wouldn’t feel like a 4th of July potluck without a classic pasta salad!

Strawberry Jello Fluff

It’s festive, packed with fresh berries, and served chilled - the perfect potluck side.

Loaded Broccoli Salad

Another classic that can’t be beat with its homemade dressing.

Boston Baked Beans

This was always our grandma's contribution and we still have them every year in her honor!

Strawberry Shortcake Bars

We love making these into a "flag" with blueberries in one corner and stripes of strawberries and frosting!

Lunch Lady PB Bars

The BEST dessert for a big crowd - they're always gone first.

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Our 4th of July Tradition! We spent all year deciding what our mix-ins would be (and it was usually Reese's tbh).
